      Fund Raiser   10/02/2017

ok sooooooooooooo here's the deal I am hoping to have a new hosting site by the end Nov middle of Dec That being said I have had only 2 peeps offering to help support the site So I think those who want to help should hold on to your cash till then. I do not want to take any money and then the site close (cause that would not be right) Many be can find some extra before then so no one has to pitch in. That's it for now Thanks WhiteWolf

  1. Step one is done. Engine out. Wiring gutted.
  2. I built this bike 10 years ago, right after my accident. It has been sitting idle for the last five years since moving to wisconsin. It's time to get it back on the road. First step is going to be pulling the engine for a later dragbike project and replacing it with the stocker.
  3. It's healing and annoying the hell out of me. The cast is supposed to come off on monday. In the meantime I've been getting the garage ready for the next project. It's time to start building again. Work has gotten in the way for too long.
  4. Well the bike is getting parked for a couple of months. Managed to break my wrist last night so riding is out for a little while.
  5. Well I have my yearly update. Lol. Bike is running fantastically. Got all of the updates mentioned above installed. It handles and stops like a motorcycle should now. This year I added a set of burly mx style floorboards. This thing vibrates a bit to the new boards help keep my shoes in place a little better. Also got rid of the stock bars for some klockwerks cliphangers. It's just getting dinner to ride. Couldn't ask for a better commuter.

  7. I've not kept up with this very well. Part of that has been due to some health issues but things are getting back on track now. The new engine went in last summer but the final components just made it onto the bike over winter, The final dyno chart is below. The issue now is that the rest of the bike needs to be upgraded to perform as well as the engine. Being an early 2000s touring model it has always had a little wobble in corners. I installed a Glide Pro stabilizing system last summer. It consists of front motor mount and a new swingarm pivot. It handled like a new bike but there is more work to be done. Over the next few weeks the suspension will be updated. I have some Progressive shocks and fork cartridges here. Just need to have some time to do the work. I also have a Baker N1 shift drum here. With the prosthetic leg, I have always had trouble finding neutral on this bike. I've got some other minor upgrades to do do the trans as well while it is apart. New belt going on at the same time. The last set of upgrades is the brakes. I scored a set of 4 piston radial mount Tokico calipers from a GSXR. Going to pair them with 13" rotors for some added stopping power.
  8. That is shaping up to be a great looking bike.
  9. remember that there is also a filter on the top of the petcock inside the tank. If the tank was coated at some point and that coating is starting to delaminate from the tank it will plug the filter very quickly.
  10. Weak output leads me to think stator. Check the resistance of the three stator wires to each other. You are going to have to disconnect them first.
  11. Nope. the above quote tells you that it is not charging. The next step is to figure out why. To do that you are going to need to test the individual components. One quick thought though... You say new reg/rec unit. There is a ground wire from the field coil that goes to the ground wire from the reg/rec unit. This wire must also be grounded to the frame. If it is not, it will not charge.
  12. I wrote this up a while back. hit me up if you have any questions. http://www.hondachopper.com/garage/troubleshooting_charging_system/troubleshooting_charging_system.pdf
  13. I am certain that Corbin will recover it. Don't see why they wouldn't send you a cover.
  14. bike like that is not supposed to stop good. part of the charm.
