      Fund Raiser   10/02/2017

ok sooooooooooooo here's the deal I am hoping to have a new hosting site by the end Nov middle of Dec That being said I have had only 2 peeps offering to help support the site So I think those who want to help should hold on to your cash till then. I do not want to take any money and then the site close (cause that would not be right) Many be can find some extra before then so no one has to pitch in. That's it for now Thanks WhiteWolf

  1. Back to this, now that the sporty chop is gone. I've started planning for the swingarm extension. Can't get bolt on extensions anymore. I picked up another swingarm on egay, it came with all the axles and bearings, but there's a crack in the swingarm pivot. I could take it in to a local shop and have fixed and stretched. Im also seriously considering building my own, but it'd be outa steel, and at least 20 lbs heavier than using the arm I've got. Was as bored today and decided to make my risers. Had two bungs already, made two more, and had some scrap DOM laying around. Came out to 5" risers. Will measure for new lines tomorrow.
  2. New to the board and having a hard time navigating on my phone so figured I'd toss this up. I've got an 1988 Honda shadow vlx that I've been trying to get back on the road. Still having issues with the dual carbs. Either way, I've been wanting to shoehorn a bandit 1200 motor into it and put a smaller sprocket on the back and make myself a decent interstate cruiser, still not sure if it'll fit and if I would be better off finding a dyna frame to use. I'd also like to be able to put at least a 5 gal. tank on it. Maybe I'd be better off finding a Harley with a blown motor. Either way just looking for some input or links to Suzuki bandit or vlx stuff. Thanks
  3. You could also get different neck bearings from AllBallz, as long as the stem will physically fit through the neck, regardless of it being a straight swap.
  4. Uh, I'm guessing it's either a non-venting "vented gas cap," or it's a completely in-redeemable piece of shit, and you should throw it away and start over. you did ask.
  5. I was going to write something crude, but I'll leave that to one of the other degenerates Bummer, but at least now you've got that much more time to plot!
  6. Damn! That's sick!
  7. She be gone. Sold her to a kool kat who's stationed up at Ft. Lewis in WA. He drove all the way down to Salem to meet me and pick up the bike. He's all about hardtails and wanted the jockey shift set up to throw back on there. I don't know if I can say I'm richer from the deal, but if anybody'll treat her right, it's that guy. As usual, my fuckin photos are somehow sideways. Fuckin iPhone. Also so ran across the truck I traded for the bike. Some guy down here where I live now bought it, and I just happened to run across it while riding around and checking the area out.
  8. Finally going to put together a hard tail. Been putting it off for years but now that I've acquired a sportster through some horse trading, I have no choice. Can't stand the squat stance unless it's an iron or a nightster, which this isn't. I've started putting a budget together for the build, but I'm having to balance the cost with maintaining two other bikes, finishing up putting a third back together, and the glories of home ownership. I figure if I keep it constrained to only the necessary parts being bought, I can keep it under $1K. What I'm struggling with is I hate the stock wheels and want mags for not only looks but also I don't want to think about tubes for spokes. I also dig the chain, but would rather run the belt for a hassle/oil sling free ride. I have most of the stock equipment that my buddy pulled off it, and will be going back to a hand clutch/foot shift set up. I'm also figuring on selling some of the parts to help offset some of the cost of the build. ==>So here's the question: if I go with some used SPORTSTER mags, will the belt limit me for which stock sized rims/tires I can run? A 150 rear would be nice, but I'm not overly concerned about it, especially since I can get metzeler 880s for pretty cheap in the 130 rear size. Feedback is usually appreciated.
  9. That's pretty cool! I was considering something similar on my 1200Bandit. Update?
  10. Still have the bike. Just been riding it on short trips and still posting on CL. Barely had any bites, though I think CL has been fucking me on the search parameters. Did some kinda shoddy painting on the tank I'm not overly proud of. If I still have it this winter I'll probably strip it part way down, re-paint the frame and tins, and maybe change up the seat. Might also ditch the ignition on the starter (very inconvenient). Also moved.
  11. Pictures? Pretty please?
  12. No kidding! I wanna see that thing pull a 100' wheelie!
  13. That looks good, now ya just need a blower! I'm guessing the front axle is just in, and not nutted and torqued hopefully?
  14. Is that an SV-1000? or the honda equal?
  15. huh, may be better off turning it into an all offroad dirt MOCHINE!
  16. Yeah, the invaders got me too! If you're wanting some spokes, I'll do the leg work if ya wana trade? Ill even pay for shipping both ways!
  17. Thanks Joe! Just got the exhaust on. Going to finish curing it and then do some polishing before heading to the one show Friday night.
  18. Couldn't take the exhaust wrap anymore. It was rotting the pipes and looked like crap. Pulled them off Monday, and started hammering out some new heat shields out of stainless. Finished it up yesterday, then sanded, prepped and painted the pipes with some high temp ceramic in a can. Pipes are drying in the house and will get them back on the bike before Friday so I can cure them. Here's a pic before paint.
  19. Uh... if it runs I guess you don't need it. Did you try tracing it out to see what it's intended porpoise was?
  20. Just put it up for sale on the CG. Asking way too much, but it's OBO so hopefully somebody will bite. With any luck there won't be any real interest in it until I park it out front of the One Moto Show next month, cause I just ordered a bunch of business cards with the CG link address. Covered up the ugly HD oil cap with something a little classier. Took some final pictures the other day now that the suns out again. http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/mcy/5971479803.html
  21. Right on! Thanks for the offer Joe. I guess we'll see what this year brings.
  22. Damn Dave! You're a madman! will you teach me how? ill buy the beer
  23. Right on! No, it ain't cheap. I started looking at prices for gear and lift tickets the next day; ouch! But it was perfect day, with little wind, and nice of puffy powder. It sounds like Mt. Bachelor in Bend gets better overall conditions, so that's probably the place to hit. Let me know if you end up this way and ill take ya round and could probably put ya up for a day or two.
  24. Forgot to update last week. Got the seat done and finished welding the tensioner on the next day. Took it for a ride, probably 30 mikes or so. I was pretty worn out by the end of it. Far as I know the tensioner worked as advertised. Couldn't see it while riding to be sure. The ride definitely helped make up my mind about selling. That and the now wife took me up to Mt. Hood on Monday and taught me to snowboard. It was pretty easy, but she seemed surprised I got it. I've found my new hobby, and the sportys involvement is to pay for it! Just waiting for the weather to warm up to re-paint the frame and tensioner.
  25. Fcuk it! Build a tank. What's the worst that could happen? lol
