Bent up a base

Welded the jack to the base

Added a top

Sandblasted it and painted it black and added a piece of rubber to the bottom to keep it from moving around .

I made it down to Sasquach Cycles ( a.k.a. the garage ) and measureed the table jack at it's lowest piont it measures 4 inches . I imagine if you gaot a smaller jack you could make one that goes lower .

I'm surprised that you were able to buy a jack from the junk yard. Maybe it's only a NC law that keeps junkyards from selling jacks.

Nope coulda bought as many as I wanted . Gonna go get a couple more soon to make a few more of these for a couple buddies . You could also go to Harbor Freight and pick one up for like 19 bux . That's what the magazine I got this idea did . It was either The Horse or Cycle Source . I cant remember

I could see this as a cool way to make one for those of us without a flat bottom frame. Just alter the top plate into some kind of cradle and bolt the bottom plate to the work table.

On my Shadow the motor sits a little lower than the frame so I cut 2 pieces of thick rubber to bring it up alittle
