help with speedo

12 posts in this topic

I have a cable speedo, and want to hook it up to a wheel that currently doesnt have a sender, is there a universal sender, or maybe a digital that will work with my cable gauge....it is a 21" wheel if that helps

Wait, I thought that's what we were talking about....

As for your speedo; I know my lady has an adjustable speedo on her bicycle that used a magnet and sensor set on a front spoke, but there's no way (economically) to make that work with a cable driven speedo.

I'm guessing you could find a speedo drive unit that might work on your existing axle that could be swapped for a spacer.?.?

either way, you've got some research ahead of you.

Some of the honda cars used a mag sensor in the speedo cable. I'm reasonably sure that the programing range on the Sigma Bicycle speedometers could be made to work but it's probably easier to put a magnet on a spoke or brake rotor and use the sensor that comes with the speedo. If you go this way be sure to get a wired one motorcycle electrics fuck with the wireless ones.

The head is fairly small and could be a lot more unobtrusive if I always rode with my bifocals on.

Only picture I could find of the sender. Too busy this morning to go get a bike out and photograph, transfer upload n link.

problem is, i have is I'm using a husquvarna wheel, and i am not sure if it will cable to the speedo, and a stock one is $75 just to see if it will work...i did try to google it, obviously with no results, so I thought I would see if anyone else had experience with it.....really don't want a digital, i think they are tacky, and will ruin the vintage look I am going for

They change model numbers to fast for me to keep up I just pick a wired one that does MPH and if I plan to ride at night a back light all the rest isn't real important a clock is nice and a trip can be handy cant remember using anything else.
